Submitting a Complaint/Report

The Title IX Coordinator oversees investigations of complaints against Georgia Tech students and student groups.  You may arrange a meeting to discuss a complaint and available options by contacting The Office of the Title IX Coordinator, 760 Spring Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30332, (404) 385-5583,

  • Complainants may bring a support person with them to meetings with the Title IX Coordinator.
  • Georgia Tech may investigate and adjudicate complaints that occur on-campus and off-campus, depending on the given situation. In addition, Georgia Tech may handle complaints that occur at Institute activities or events, such as study-abroad and Institute-sponsored trips.
  • Sexual violence is a crime. Consider reporting to Georgia Tech Police if the assault occurred on-campus, or to the local police department or agency if the assault occurred off-campus. You may also discuss these and other options with the Title IX Coordinator. However, there need not be a police report  in order for Georgia Tech to proceed with its administrative process.
  • If there is a complaint and investigation, the Title IX Coordinator is responsible for notifying the accused student or group of the complaint and ensuring a timely investigation.  If the complaint proceeds to a hearing, the Office of Student Integrity (OSI) will coordinate the hearing and a panel convened by OSI will determine if there is a violation of the Sexual Misconduct Policy and, if so, appropriate sanctions.
  •  As part of the investigation into your complaint, you have the option to provide a written statement of what you saw, heard or experienced.  The person accused has a right to see what you write.  As part of the investigation, you, the accused, and other relevant witnesses may also be interviewed by an investigator.

Complaints against Georgia Tech faculty or staff members are addressed by the Georgia Tech Office of Human Resources, 500 Tech Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia, 404-385-1779 (Julie Joyce, Sr. Director, HR Business Partner/Employee Relations). You may also use the EthicsPoint hotline to file a complaint. Call 1-800-384-4277 or go online at
